Well I’m losing a lot of respect for Nintendo and frankly this blatant exclusion of information for us devoted fans really makes me question why I still support Nintendo.

Well said, David!!! You took the words right out of my mouth and I couldn’t agree more. I’m absolutely beside myself. They haven’t said A WORD about the US release of this game in MONTHS!!! The US Nintendo Direct in December made me so angry. We don’t even have an official release date yet!!! It’s absurd!!! They can’t even say that it’s the “localization process” either because the “Pokemon Direct” that was aired yesterday pretty much told us that they have found a way to speed up localization. I think what we have here is a classic numbers game. Nintendo’s Fiscal Year begins April 1st and ends the following March 31st. At this point I think the US will either see it in early March so Nintendo can close out their year with higher than anticipated figures OR we won’t see it until we’ll after April 1st when Nintendo’s Fiscal Year resets. It is seriously so aggravating!!!!!

Oh boy, jealousy struck hard on certain people. When you consider that there are actual reasons why this happened, you’ll find yourself saying: “Why I didn’t thought of that before?”.

I understand that we were waiting for this long, but it seems that localizing the game to South Korea is apparently easier and faster (while their timing is usually a bit off in the past) than in Europe and North America. The latter two have multiple languages and some changes to be taken into consideration, so that must be why it takes longer for the game to release in these regions.

I guess the localization process in other regions didn’t started until at certain point during the final stages of development of ACNL. The development itself took like two years and a few months to be done since E3 2010 quietly revealed it.

There, you got reasons why the game took so long to get it released in English-speaking countries. To sum it up, the localization teams seemed to have started tackling ACNL around the final stages of the game upon the Japanese release. That was an interesting case, eh?

I suppose it’s annoying and all that Korea appears to be getting it earlier than the rest of us. The thing that annoys me most, however, is that there is still no mention of an actual release date for the US and Europe. Sure, telling us that we’re getting it in the first half or the second quarter of the year is all well and good. But I would like an actual date, please, Nintendo. Especially now that Korea’s got one.

I know that this is ridiculous, but I don’t think complaining will help get it here any faster.. Just be patient, and the game will be here before we know it. Besides when it does release we’ll have more fun if it comes out closer to the end of the school year rather than sometime in March, or whatever, since we’d have to focus on our towns, and school. xD I would rather have the game come out sometime in April, May, or June, so I don’t have to wait that long to play it nonstop during Summer vacation, rather than have it in February, or March, since I for one will be too distracted to even concentrate on my school work. I’m not saying that deep down I don’t want it right now, but what I’m saying is, to be patient..

As for the sped up localization, they’re probably just testing out to see how well the sped up localization will be with Pokemon, before applying that practice to any other games.. Think about it, if it’s the first time for them, they would rather do it with a franchise that’s close to popularity with Mario, rather than a franchise that isn’t. If the two new Pokemon games sell well, then there will probably be a faster localization with future Animal Crossing releases. I do hope this is one of the last times we’ll have to wait a while for a game to be localized, and translated.

You also have to remember that, Korea got Animal Crossing: City Folk in 2010, meaning they HAD to wait a longer time to get it than anybody else. Just let him have this one, and stop complaining.. No country is better than another just because you happen to be there. If you guys continue complaining, and being little bitches, then I guess the entire community on New Leaf will be a bunch of people who will be mean to other countries who don’t have the game.

I don’t want to hear people who get it in American (I for one included) to make fun of other countries who have to wait for it.. For example if the game comes out March 17 in America, but Europe gets it two weeks later.. it would make me sick if people went around bitching. JUST GROW UP! I don’t hate, or have hate towards someone just because they are from a different country, or part of the world.. no, I actually adore the Japanese, Koreans, Chinese, British, etc… If I was the reason behind why life is terrible, then why would I have friends who live in Britain, or Mexico, or any other part of the world? I probably wouldn’t, because I would be too caught up in thinking, “America is great, and the best country.” I know there are things wrong with America, and there are things wrong with every country.

I completely agree with you. Nintendo will probably release when they see it’ll do best in the market. They want to make the most money with their games, so if they think March is the best time, then they’ll release it then. I don’t think people should just look at this as a bad thing, in fact this could be a positive thing, since they’re probably getting close to localizing it.

Why should Europe and the US have to wait another 2 months AT LEAST when we have already been waiting since 2008 when animal crossing on the Wii was released.

Same here, Ryan! I couldn’t care less who “gets it first” because none of us are really entitled to get it first (other than Japan since that’s where the main development occurs). BUT, a confirmed release date would make the wait less harrowing. I do think a release date announcement for the US and UK is coming soon, though! I read a “rumor” online that there’s going to be a US Nintendo Direct on January 31st. I don’t know if its true or not but I think we’ll definitely be getting some news soon! Fingers crossed!!!!
